Irony of life



 Just a thought- A teacher performed MahaMruthyunjaya japa with planting of yantra (magical contraption) at a place or nearby where 25 people died in an accident over the Samruddhi Marg. A noble thought to prevent accidents. 
Result: He was later booked under the Prevention of Black Magic Act 2013.

Some months back, we too had Gruh Pravesh puja (obeisance and associated ritual at the time of first-time entry into new home) and placed a vastu pratima (magical contraption for safety of home) under tile in a corner in our apartment. Result: I am too having a peace of mind since then and more so because we are not booked under the above Act.

In the past, many pujas were performed officially to attain various objectives. Some months back, puja with yagya was performed in a very great institution for public goods so that the institution lasts long to serve people, and this beloved country (Vishwa Guru) becomes the great again or all time great. Result: Draw your own conclusion. Surely, no such black magic applies here. 

These are different strokes-irony (ironies) of life. Who performs yagya puja (obeisance with associated ritual) is most important- legally and religiously. “Boss is always right” as my Guru used to tell me.

       Rice crop in Nov 2022 Pesticides are important component of crop protection. They have played an important role in reducing crop losses by controlling pests and diseases. Over the years, pesticide consumption has been on increase. About 60,000 tons of pesticides are consumed in India. In view of increasing awareness of environment and human health, pesticides are under constant scrutiny for their efficacy and safety. In India, 339 pesticides are registered for use as insecticides, fungicides, rodenticides, weedicides and others under the Insecticide Act 1968. Expanding scope of evaluation of insecticides beyond efficacy and cost to including environmental impact assessment

This is like a project formulation for studying various aspects, especially effective management tactics against the key insect pests damaging the important crops grown in the area under the University’s jurisdiction. The project proposals mostly focussed on the evaluation of insecticides at two different locations in each of two years’ period under the field conditions.
