  Vitthal, Vitthal…invokes a feeling of piousness as one chants this name. It is Lord Krishna who guided Pandavas against Kauravas in a battle best described in the Mahabharata. Vitthal Rukmai (Rukmini) temple was on my bucket list but I realized this dream of visiting this famous temple at Pandharpur in the state of Maharashtra during this trip. And to add spice to our yatra, we undertook a roundabout tour starting from Mumbai through Lonavala, Pune, Pandharpur, Tuljapur, Vijayapura, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri, Dapoli, Alibaug and then returning to Mumbai over eight days. This visit covered southernwestern and konkan regions of Maharashtra which we had hardly visited. Our travels through Buddhist hinterland-Deoghar-Bihar-Uttar Pradesh-Nepal-Uttar Pradesh

 Posted on the 10th October, 2025 Om Namo Shivay, Har har mahadev, Jai Mahadev, Jai baba Vishwanath are the most common chants in any Hindu temple. But when it comes to jyotirlinga, fervor of devotees reaches its high pitch frequently to chant God’s name in a way you like it, and chant in chorus follows. So, we had an opportunity to visit the jyortirling at Deoghar in Jharkhand, popularly called Baba Baijnath jyotirling. We decided to take a longer circular route to visit many other religious and  tourist places in their states and in the neighbouring country, Nepal. Essentially, this tour of 9 days of air, rail and road travel focussed on locations related to Buddhism and culminated our faith in the larger goods that humanity seeks to attain. How robust is our pesticide policy? A case of waiting period or post-harvest interval for safe consumption of produce

This policy also envisaged reduction in the use of synthetic pesticides and increase in eco-friendly safe tactics in the agroecosystem. Safety to all is pivotal of crop protection policy. However, synthetic pesticides remained the bulwark of integrated pest management in agriculture. In fact, consumption of synthetic pesticides has increased over the past two decades from about 45,000 tons to about 60,000 tons. And hence, it has become necessary that we use pesticides judiciously so that farmers save their farm produce from the ravages of pests and at the same time, consumers get foodgrains and other farm produce that are safe to eat.
